Dhanachuli & Bhimtal Trip

I went on a 3 day trip to Dhanachuli and Bhimtal in May this year with my parents, uncles, aunts and cousins. It was a big group and we all drove down to Bhimtal and Dhanachuli. The trip was awesome fun, you can have a look at some of the pictures below.

Quiet & Serene Bhimtal - Thats how it looks almost all the time!

Minesota resort in Bhimtal. It was very beautiful, but little scary at night!

Early morning view of the snow covered mountain ranges.

I love the blue sky

This temple was on top of a hill and was built by a sadhu years ago.

Have you seen a step farming for wheat?

Amritsar Trip

I went for a short trip to Amritsar on a long weekend and had loads of fun. Amritsar is located in the northwestern part of India in the State of Punjab, 32 miles (51 km) east of Lahore, Pakistan. Have a look at some of the pics that I took during my trip.

Are we there yet????

This is definitely one of the most beautiful temples that I have seen.

So, does it look pretty only at night?

Image of Golden temple in water...still as beautiful

View From Golden temple's Terrace!

Golden Temple? Are you sure its the same...its a Hindu temple in Amritsar made on the lines of the Golden temple...

The Road leading to Pakistan!

The famous gate to Pakistan...the Wagah Border!

Is it an India-Pak cricket match? naaah!

Indian Countryside

These picture are not one of the best that I have taken. But, it was a nice and relaxing trip for me to the countryside, so I wanted to share the pictures on my blog. Hope you like it. If you are wondering about the location of the countryside, its near Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

River Gomti in Lucknow, it was so quiet and peaceful...

This picture is not clear at all, but I still like the contrast between a hut & an elevated railway track!

Such a lovely Green countryside. Weird angle of the picture is due to the moving tractor.

I loved this bumpy & noisy ride...it was kinda cool!

Nice and pretty!

Papaya Tree

I somehow love this picture

This one is beautiful too!

Aahaa....How can I visit the countryside and not see any cattle.

Look who is posing now ;-)

Mumbai Trip

This post contains pictures of my most recent trip to Mumbai in July 2007. I think July is the worst time to visit Mumbai as at time the monsoon season is at its peak and Mumbai is badly flooded and it becomes really difficult to move around the city. However despite all this I had a lovely time in Mumbai take a look at some of the pictures I took:

The famous Marine Drive, with a touch of reality.

Gate-way to(of) India?

Local train ki patri. I really like this picture, don't know why.

Now who would believe this is Bombay? This is a view of the Bombay backwaters. Nice, clean and green!

The name is awful, but trust me the place is a foodies delight!

No kids on the slides when its raining.

The sky clearing after the rain.

Slightly stuffed local train.

And who says the train is always stuffed, there are a couple of stops when you may get to do this. Oh by the way this can only happen in the ladies compartment, not in the general one!

Do I see something in the sky?

Yet another random shot of the sky. I love doing this.

Hey I had no clue that HMV's full form was this before I saw this sign board.

A repeat of a picture taken by me in before?

A big portion of Bombay!

The beautiful Taj hotel of Bombay, built right opposite Gateway of India.

My day out at children's park, New Delhi

This was a total random trip, I had gone to meet a couple of friends in north campus and on my way back I visited children's park, which is near India gate. I spent time with some really adorable kids, I enjoyed my self a lot!
Take a look at some of the pictures:

Children's Park at New Delhi.

Kids playing on a slide. I somehow really like this picture, it reminds me of my own school picnics.

These kids thought I was some sort of big photographer, they thought I would make them famous. If you notice they kept coming closer and closer to the camera just to make sure I don't miss them out :)

Do I see four legs?

Example of Perfect Competition? I can count at least 15 ice cream stalls in this picture!

Kids relaxing after a hard day's work!

One of the cute guys I met in the park.

And one of the shy guys I met!

A view of the park from in here...

I really like taking shots of the sky!

A very strange tree in the park.

Look at what we have here.

A walk into the park...

The mighty structure- built for the mighty soldiers!

A trip to Mussoorie!

The pictures in this post are of a place called Mussoorie, which is a hill station in the State of Utrakhand, India. Mussoorie, with its green hills and varied flora & fauna, is a fascinating tourist spot. This hill station, situated in the foothills of the Himalaya ranges, is also known as the Queen of the Hills.
The history of Mussoorie dates back to 1825 when Captain Young, an adventurous British military officer, together with a Mr. Shore, the resident Superintendent of Revenues at Dehradun explored the present site and jointly constructed a shooting lodge. This laid the foundation of this holiday resort which now has few rivals.
The name Mussoorie is often attributed to a derivation of 'mansoor', a shrub which is indigenous to the area. The town is in fact often referred to as 'Mansoori' by locals.
Have a look at the pictures below:

Have a look at the Himalayan Foothills. A picture taken from the famous Camel's back road of Mussoorie.

Another view of the Himalayan ranges from Gun Hill.

Kind of Heavenly?

My personal favorite of the trip. Look closely it has two rainbows!

The beautiful sky in the evening.

Ever busy Mall Road!

Walking around Mussoorie one often gets to meet some cute local residents.

Carving my way through the mountains.

Its raining there most of the time!

Vertical view down from the Cable car at Gun Hill.

This chap has been freed from the horse riding trade because of his bad health.

A view of Dehradun from Mussoorie.

These beautiful things are result of the lovely climate that Mussoorie has.

Visit to the queen's land-May 2005

The pictures that you see below were taken by me in May 2005 of London. This was the first time that I actually used my digital camera. I took tons of pictures during the trip, but unfortunately didn't have anything to save them on and hence lost a lot of pictures. The ones that you see below are my favourites. It was a great trip!

This is probably not the best picture of Big Ben, it certainly is a very different picture. I kind of like the angle of it.

I love this picture! I took it from on top of St. Paul Cathedral. Doesn't it look like a painting?

Rainy day outside the queens house!

A patient wait for lunch!

Yet another lovely view from St. Paul's.

A view of St. Paul's from the London Eye. Its the dome structure in the picture.

Another view from the London Eye.

A long que at WestMinister's Abbey.

My Babaji's cat- Polly...sleeping on his bed!

Flowers on a Cactus! I had never seen this before.
